Property Description

Kúludalsá is a farm in West-Iceland, 10 km from the small town Akranes and about 40 km from Reykjavik. We keep several horses and work with forestry.

The farm is located by the sea with a great view over the Whale fjord (Hvalfjördur) and mountains. From here it is easy to hike up to the to mountain Akrafjall that is close to the farm.

The waterfall Glymur, one of the highest in Iceland, is also close. In Akranes you find a special outdoor pot on three levels (Gudlaug) with a view over a long sand beach (Langisandur).

In Akranes you also find the famous Lighthouse. Go in there and all the stairs up to the top. You will not regret! On the way down, sing a little song and you will hear it sound so beautifully between the walls.

How To Reach

You will find Kúludalsá on www.ja.is: The farm is on the north side of Hvalfjordur. When you drive from Reykjavik you will come to a tunnel (the tunnel is under Hvalfjordur). You can choose between driving through the tunnel, or take the long road along the Hvalfjordur with the beautiful view. It takes about one hour to drive along Hvalfjordur. If you choose the tunnel, then on the north side you will come into a roundabout and take the first exit and drive toward east. The farm is about 2 km away. Kúludalsá is on the seaside of the road, with many houses with red roofs, and lot of trees. You will find the name of the farm and a tourist sign where you drive from the main road and down to the farm.
